Child dies after accident in south Indianapolis – Indianapolis news | Indiana weather | Indiana traffic

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police said an investigation into a death in south Indianapolis was underway Friday.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department believes the accident may have involved the child and a motor vehicle with a trailer.

Just after 10:50 a.m. Friday, IMPD officers responded to a report of an injury crash in the 8700 block of Meadowridge Lane, a residential area northeast of Railroad Road and County Line Road.

Officers found an injured child, a press release said. The child was taken to a nearby hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.

Officials did not provide any further information about the incident.
