1 dead and 4 seriously injured in car accident on Highway 50

One person is dead and four others were seriously injured after a crash in the Outaouais region. Emergency crews were called to the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 near Papineauville, Quebec, at around 3:15 a.m. Saturday, the Sûreté du Québec told Radio-Canada. Quebec provincial police said witnesses reported the vehicle was traveling at high speed when it struck the guardrail and overturned. The driver, a 22-year-old man from Longueuil, Quebec, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead.
