Stamford teen killed in motorcycle crash: police

STAMFORD, CT – A 17-year-old Stamford resident died Friday evening after police said the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car.

Because of the teen’s age, police said they would not release his identity.

The accident occurred around 9:13 p.m. when a 2020 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling north on Lockwood Avenue and a 2011 Toyota Corolla driven by a 58-year-old Stamford resident was traveling south.

At the intersection of Lockwood Avenue and William Street, the Toyota attempted to turn left and entered the path of the motorcycle, police added. The motorcycle attempted to stop but was unable to and struck the front of the Toyota.

The teenager was taken to Stamford Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.
