Houston Housing Authority Offers Variety of Assistance to Those Affected by Hurricane Beryl

HOUSTON (KIAH) — An organization dedicated to helping people find affordable housing is now helping storm victims.

The Houston Housing Authority is hosting resource distribution events Wednesday and Thursday at three locations where it will provide people affected by Hurricane Beryl with free food, water, ice, fresh produce, and cleaning and disinfecting supplies.

Two of the locations are in Houston — Lincoln Park at 790 W. Little York Road and Long Drive Townhomes at 6767 Long Drive — with the third location being in Humble at Mansions at Turkey Creek at 20919 Birnamwood Boulevard.

All events take place from 2pm to 4pm on both days.

The housing authority is also offering a cooling station for people who still don’t have power in their homes due to last Monday’s hurricane.

It is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the HHA main office, located at 2640 Fountain View Drive in Houston.

At the main office, HHA also offers assistance paying utility bills and applying for FEMA funding to help cover costs you may have incurred due to the powerful storm.
