Man killed, woman injured in shooting in Chicago’s South Loop

CHICAGO (CBS) — A man is dead and a woman is recovering after a shooting in Chicago’s South Loop.

When police arrived at the corner of 21st Street and Michigan Avenue around 11:15 p.m. Saturday night, they found more than three dozen bullet casings.

Investigators say the victims were walking when someone pulled up in a white SUV and someone inside the vehicle began shooting.

The 26-year-old man was hit multiple times and died a short time later at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

The 25-year-old woman was shot in the leg and is expected to recover.

No one is in custody.
