20-year-old convicted of raping minors 170

The Grand Criminal Court sentenced a 20-year-old man to seven years of hard labor for repeatedly raping a minor and causing her to become pregnant. The court found the defendant guilty of raping the 17-year-old girl 170 times and treating her like a wife before both were arrested by police.

In a public session, the court convicted the defendant of the crime of extramarital sexual intercourse with a woman under Article 294\1 of the Criminal Code, repeated 170 times. The court dismissed the public charge against the defendant for the crime of violating the custody of minors, as it fell under the general amnesty law.

The court imposed the harshest punishment on the defendant, sentencing him to seven years of hard labor, including fees and expenses.

In its decision, the court noted that the 17-year-old victim had a habit of running away from her parental home and having sexual activities with unknown men for money. In January 2023, she met the accused and informed him about her situation. According to the court’s decision, he took her to his home, where she stayed for several months and let him treat her like a wife.

The court’s decision revealed that the accused repeated his crimes against the victim about 170 times in different periods. When the victim’s menstrual cycle stopped, she took a pregnancy test and found out that she was pregnant. She was then arrested by the police.
