The Buffalo Bills finished their offseason workouts last week, but for the front office, their work is expected to continue throughout the summer. General manager Brandon Beane has done a good job revamping this roster without having to do a complete teardown.

In just a few months, they have an almost entirely new wide receiver group at safety. The Bills were also able to add depth at key positions, like along the defensive line, which should help them during the 2024 season.

However, there are still a number of talented players looking for new teams for the upcoming season that could really help round out this roster. The Bills shouldn’t wait much longer to add some names to this list.

The Buffalo Bills currently have 13 wide receivers on the roster, as they decided the best approach to replacing Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis was to create as much competition as possible. Although Richie James is technically a wide receiver, he wouldn’t factor into the offense as much. The former Kansas City Chief would be best suited for a position that doesn’t have a clear answer at this point, namely return specialist.

The best options for punt returners currently on the roster are Khalil Shakir or rookie Daequan Hardy, while on kickoffs it’s likely Ty Johnson. However, James has experience in punt returns with 95 punt returns for an average of 7.9 yards per punt and 56 kickoff returns for an average of 22.6 yards by kickoff.
