Atlanta is one of the nation’s top moving destinations

ATLANTA — Atlanta has been named one of the nation’s top moving destinations by Penske Truck Rentals.

The moving company recently announced its Top Moving Destinations for 2023 list, which ranks the top 10 cities consumers moved to based on one-way truck rentals in 2023, and Atlanta ranked at number one. fourth on the list.

The City in the Trees moved up one rank from fifth place last year.

Penske also conducted a survey asking consumers to think about their decision to move and how they adjusted to their new city.

The survey found that the top reasons people move are proximity to family, low cost of living and a desire for more space. Specifically in Georgia, 39% of people moved within the state for better job opportunities.

The results also revealed that more than 60 percent of respondents who moved to Georgia acclimated to their new city by exploring new restaurants and shops, discovering new parks and outdoor spaces, and participating in local events.
