15-year-old girl raped multiple times while returning from class in Madhya Pradesh: Police

A case has been registered based on the complaint of the bereaved family member, the police said (Representative)

Shahdol (Madhya Pradesh):

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by five men in a village in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district, police said on Tuesday.

According to Kotwali police, the incident took place on Monday evening when the survivor and her friend were returning from training. They were intercepted by a group of five people.

The as-yet-unidentified defendants allegedly held the survivor’s girlfriend hostage as they took turns raping her. They later fled the spot, said ADGP Dinesh Chandra Sagar.

Based on the survivor’s complaint, a case was registered against the unidentified accused and efforts were made to identify and trace the accused.

Meanwhile, the police have also announced a reward of Rs 30,000 for any information leading to the identification of the unknown accused.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, they added.
