2 in hospital after shooting in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Michigan (WOOD) – Two people were hospitalized following a shooting Sunday night in Kalamazoo, police said.

Shortly after 10 p.m., officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety were called to Portage Street near Banbury Road for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they found an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old, both of Kalamazoo, suffering from gunshot wounds.

First responders provided medical assistance and then took the victims to the hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

KDPS has no suspects in the shooting.
