Vidler’s 5 & 10 in East Aurora added to historic register

Vidler’s in East Aurora is gaining recognition statewide. Historic Store 5 & 10 has been added to the New York State Register of Historic Businesses.

The registry, administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, highlights businesses that have been in business for at least 50 years and have contributed to their community’s history .

“We are excited to announce that we have just been added to the New York State Historic Business Preservation Register. Named by our State Senator Pat Gallivan, the registry was established in 2020 and is administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Recreation. Historic Preservation,” Vidler said in the release. “The registry recognizes businesses that meet the following criteria: they have operated in the state for more than 50 years; they have demonstrated contributions to the history and identity of their community; and they are committed to maintaining the physical characteristics and traditions that define the company.

This comes just before Vidler’s prepares to celebrate its 94th birthday. This celebration begins at 11 a.m. Saturday. Senator Patrick Gallivan will be present for the event.
