Openings and closures following water main breaks in Atlanta

ATLANTA — Breaks in Atlanta’s water mains have closed many businesses and government offices for several days.

Although it appears that most have returned to business as usual, some are still closed or affected.

We checked with officials. Here is a list of statuses you need to know:

• The Georgia Aquarium reopened Sunday but will have limited amenities. Customers who had tickets for May 31 or June 1 can exchange them for a future visit.

• Megan Thee Stallion’s performance date Monday, rescheduled for Saturday, is scheduled to continue at State Farm Arena. Those who purchased tickets on Saturday will be honored.

• The world of Coca-Cola is open again.

• Fulton County libraries are expected to open tomorrow if water pressure returns to normal. The East and West End locations closed Monday.

• Fulton County public health offices are also expected to reopen Tuesday. Four of their locations had to close Monday due to water supply issues.

• Atlanta Public Schools summer programs are postponed until the city’s boil water advisory is lifted. It is not known whether programs will resume on Tuesday. A letter was sent to parents.

• Three Bright Horizon child care centers remain closed as work continues on West Peachtree Street. The parents were contacted directly.

• Grady Hospital has resumed normal operations. Patients will receive bottled water.

• Emory Hospital has returned to normal operations.

• Northside Hospital also remains open with limited access to the Spring Street entrance. Anyone with an appointment there should confirm it with their doctor.

• The Eleventh Street pub remains closed.

Keep in mind that a boil water advisory is still in effect. Check out the Atlanta watershed map to see if this includes your area.

Drivers are asked to avoid 10th through 12th streets as crews continue work at the intersection of 11th and West Peachtree Street as it is partially closed.
